Diagnostic
All of our students are assessed at the beginning of our program. This assessment provides the prescriptive information we need to prepare an individualized program that will benefit each child in reading and writing fluently.
Individualized
One-on-one classes allow instructors to teach explicit information to each student. Private instruction allows for independent learning through direct and systemic language techniques. This is one of the most successful ways to teach reading and writing. Our tutors are available for individualized classes at our reading studio in Coral Gables or private lessons at your home in the South Miami area.
Structured
The Orton-Gillingham method is the main approach of instruction at Reading Arts Academy. Our program is designed from simple to complex. It starts with the basics of language, letter names and sounds. Then, it develops with phonemic awareness, phonics and word recognition. Additionally, it is a complete language arts program with instruction in grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension and composition. This formula has been proven to be the most successful in the science of reading, improving children’s reading, spelling and writing skills.
Multisensory
The most powerful element of our program is multisensory instruction. Every child has a different learning style, whether it be visual, auditory or kinesthetic. We develop all of our lesson plans with these techniques, so that children are guaranteed to absorb the information taught and enjoy their classes in the process!
